The Tourist Board promotes the region at Buy Catalonia 2008
The second Buy Catalonia, one of the most important events that the Catalonia Tourist Board organises for the tourist sector, was held on 5 June. It consisted of a workshop which was attended by over 350 businesses in the sector and 150 European tour operators. Over 2,800 interviews took place during the day, 24% more than in 2006.
The main objective of Buy Catalonia is to place Catalan tourism entrepreneurs in touch with European tour operators, in order to show them their products and ranges. Coming from 16 different markets – including Germany, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Italy, Ireland and the Netherlands, as well as elsewhere in Spain - businesses from these countries have the opportunity to develop links with the Catalan market and look for ideas to offer their clients when preparing their holidays.
The Tourist Board's participation in the show led to 15 appointments being made with various operators, from Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Spain (Madrid), which were used to raise awareness of the spaces and complementary services in this area in the Baix Llobregat.
