Baix Llobregat. District of Contrasts

The publication is divided into a series of sections covering the various facets which Baix Llobregat presents. An introduction to the riches offered by the region gives visitors a context and provides a brief overview of the features to be found in the district. This is followed by a run-through of the main features of each different area and the tourist potential of the district, such as the coastline and beaches, the Modernista architectural heritage and the presence of works by Gaudí and Jujol, unique sites such as the saltpetre caves, textile settlements, prehistoric mines and Roman baths, the more active pursuits available in the heart of nature, such as hiking and related activities, the environmental potential of the Llobregat Estuary, local traditions in the form of fairs, fiestas and other distinctive events, along with fine food and drink based on regional produce.
