Share:

Montserrat Mountain Natural Park is an area protected for its natural, cultural and scenic wealth.

The protected nature area of the mountain and its surrounding area cover an area of over 7,500 hectares, of which 1,765 Ha account for Nature Reserve within 3,483 Ha of Natural Park. The Protected Environment includes the zone that surrounds the park and covers a total area of 4,085 Ha.

The Montserrat Mountain Trust has governed and managed the Park since it was awarded protection status in 1987.

The municipalities of El Bruc, Marganell, Monistrol and Collbató act as gateways to the Montserrat massif and partly appear within the nature area. The participation and involvement of the municipalities, the Abbey of Montserrat and other smallholders make the day-to-day improvement of this magnificent natural area possible.

Among its main attractions are the Montserrat Caves in the municipality of Collbató, and the Montserrat Monastery and the Montserrat Museum located in Monistrol de Montserrat (Bages region).
