Corbera de Llobregat
The millenary town of Corbera, located in a prime spot surrounded by Aleppo pine forests, still conserves elements of its Medieval origins: the 16th century Casal de Santa Magdalena –also known as the Castle -, the old Hospital de Pelegrins (also 16th century), Santa Maria church (13th century) and the ruins of the old Castell de Cavallers (10th century), among other buildings.
It celebrates a wide variety of events, such as the Live Nativity Scene (December and January), the festival of scenic arts (May), the winter “festa major” (January), and the summer one (July) and the Aplec de Sant Ponç fair (May), celebrated around the Romanesque church of Sant Ponç, which dates back to 11th century and is still marvellously preserved.
